The Lighthouse

The child asked of the Lighthouse. The Mother explained. "It is a sign of safety. It lets travelers know when they are close to shore. It's light is placed high for all to see and shines bright into even the darkest of times." The child thought for a while and said, "What if people don't see it?" The Mother thought for a while and replied, "It does have to be seen to guide, sweet child. That is true. As long as people look for it, it will be there. If they choose to look away or close their eyes even when it is there, that is their choice on their path, sweet child. The Lighthouse will still shine."
